Bendigo Aquatic and Leisure Centre
The Gurri Wanyarra Wellbeing centre designed by Peddle Thorp Architects provides a leisure and fitness facility second to none for the local community of Bendigo.
Featuring a 51.5 metre pool, a hydrotherapy/warm water pool and spa, splash play and learn to swim pools, change facilities, a wellbeing centre, café, multipurpose rooms, along with a gymnasium, the facility is a full service community fitness and health hub.
Ceramic Solutions supplied and installed all tiling in the facility with Peddle Thorp selecting Chroma Plural Basis 2+ tiles from the Agrob Buchtal range for the concourse floors due to its great slip resistance characteristics. Specialised corner and edge pieces were utilised throughout the facility to ensure smooth rounded edges on all tiling features. Inside the spa pool, Plural Sphere Cool mosaics were used for underwater seating.
The lobby features Agrob Buchtal’s Capestone slip resistant flooring in Mid-Grey providing an attractive, safe and easy to clean surface for facility operators and the public alike.
In addition, Ceramic Solutions supplied FINA approved Malmsten lane ropes. Made in Sweden, these products are preferred at all international swimming meets and Olympic Games due to their flow through design and excellent water turbulence control.
In the 50 metre pool, Ceramic Solutions installed a Stark bulkhead to create a truly versatile swimming facility enabling multiple activities to take place simultaneously within the single pool.
Quality Spectrum starting platforms were installed in the facility. They have a patented no wobble anchoring system and are manufactured from high quality stainless steel.
